Silver Oak Wine Tasting

November 7, 2017 at 6:15 p.m.

The tasting will consist of 5 wines (4 Cabernet Sauvignon and 1 Merlot), food will be offered, retail availability of the wines offered, and large format bottles will be available to avid collectors of fine wine as well. The price is $50 per person, which includes tax and gratuity.


Silver Oak Cellars was founded with a dedication to produce only one wine, Cabernet Sauvignon. They have been steadfast to this commitment since 1972. Their success derives from their uncompromising standards of grape growing and winemaking, combined with an extended aging program. The result is Silver Oak’s distinctive style of well-developed bouquet, complexity, luscious flavors, and an oaky backbone from the extended aging in New American oak barrels.

Raymond Twomey Duncan, a Colorado entrepreneur who began investing in California vineyards in the late 1960s, and Justin Meyer, a winemaker and former Christian Brother, began in a Napa Valley dairy barn in 1972, producing only 1,100 cases of their inaugural vintage. With David R. Duncan now serving as President and CEO and Tim Duncan as Executive Vice President, the Duncan family continues to own and operate the winery to this day.

In 1999 the Duncan family decided to keep Silver Oak as a Cabernet only vineyard and branched to pursue other varietals by creating Twomey Vineyards. Twomey has two wineries; one in Calistoga in the Napa Valley, and one in Healdsburg in the Russian River Valley, and produces Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc.
